Donald Trump said that, as president, he warned NATO allies that he “would encourage” Russia “to do whatever the hell they want” to countries that are “delinquent” (2/10/2024). The recent death of Alexei Navalny, a citizen of fascist Russia, and the Russian treatment of Ukrainians indicates what Russia will do to those under her fascist occupation. Trump would sacrifice thousands, perhaps millions, to appease his hero: Vladimir Putin. This fascist appeasement, as well as Trump’s need for The Border as a campaign issue, is what drove the House GOP rejection of the Senate bi-partisan bill providing legislation for Ukraine, Israel and The Border that was negotiated when the Senate complied with the House request to combine the three issues. That rejection not only demonstrated GOP cold blooded treasonous cowardice but also that Republicans lack the honor to keep their word. They chose to appear as spineless worms groveling before Trump and Putin because the Trump base demanded it.
For fascists, their cold blooded cruelty is the point. As cowards and bullies, they deem cold blooded cruelty as a sign of strength. A key point of their purpose is to enact retribution against those they’ve learned to hate by listening to right wing fascist propaganda 24-7. It’s why they cheer at Paul Pelosi being beaten with a hammer. It’s why their leader confuses Nancy Pelosi and Niki Haley because he has blind raging hatred for both women. And that hatred raged when Trump won an election. We can imagine how that hatred turned him into a mad man as evil as any tyrant when he lost the 2020 election. MAGA propaganda then made the fascist base hate filled liars and election deniers. Those who resisted were rejected like Liz Cheney.
That’s why anything Republicans say about the economy, border or crime is meaningless because problem resolution isn’t their objective. Forcing a Trump dictatorship is. Remember when they said Mexico would pay for the wall? That’s how serious they are about solving the border problem. Their motivation is only to obtain absolute power and impose their will upon others by practicing cruelty as a demonstration of their power. Trump is actually arguing to be immune from committing political assassination before the Supreme Court. His promised retribution appears to include murdering Americans like Putin murders Russians. It’s how fascism works.
